30 Years of Serving Children and Families
A trusted, community-based nonprofit dedicated to helping young children learn, grow, and thrive.

At The Village
At Village Care Family Services, Inc., we believe parents and caregivers are the experts on their children. You know your child’s personality, strengths, interests, and daily routines better than anyone else.
Our role is to partner with you by combining your knowledge of your child with our expertise in child development. Together, we create meaningful learning opportunities within your family’s everyday routines, providing strategies, resources, and support that help your child grow while building your confidence every step of the way.

Our Teachers and Therapists
All of our teachers are certified by the State of Pennsylvania and possess a bachelor’s and or master’s degree in education, or a concentration in early childhood development. Our therapists are licensed by the state and are credentialed in their respective fields.

Our Mission
Our mission is to partner with families and communities to positively impact early childhood development.
History And Vision
VCFS was founded in 2000 by Joetta Moran Kersey, a speech-language pathologist, who worked for the School District of Philadelphia. Joetta saw a need for education and support for families with small children in the community she lived and worked in. Her desire became the driving force for our vision: to empower parents and caretakers in their communities and strengthen their connections to resources increasing their child’s ability to learn, grow and thrive throughout the cycles of life.
